Anna-Lena Groenefeld and Kveta Peschke have clinched the sixth doubles spot at the BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global, leaving just two more spots remaining.
The Czech Republic’s Peschke and Germany’s Groenefeld are making their first appearances at the WTA Finals as a team. Peschke has previously played with four different partners at the Finals, making three final appearances in her seven years at the event, while 2017 marks a debut for Groenefeld.
This season, Groenefeld and Peschke have won the J&T Banka Prague Open and were runners-up at the Rogers Cup in Toronto. In Grand Slam play, the pair reached the semifinals at Wimbledon.
Anna-Lena Groenefeld and Kveta Peschke will join Timea Babos and Andrea Hlavackova, Martina Hingis and Chan Yung-Jan, defending champions Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina, Ashleigh Barty and Casey Dellacqua and Lucie Hradecka and Katerina Siniakova in Singapore later this month.
